Therapy & assessment
Answers you can use, not just receive.
A doctoral psychology practice in Cambridge for therapy and formal assessment. Evidence-based care, written and explained in plain English.

The standard.
Diagnosis with purpose
Labels should open doors, not close them. Every assessment is built around what you actually need the answer for.
Evidence, not opinion
Treatments and conclusions are grounded in current research and named as such.
Plain English reports
Your report is written to be read by you first - then by schools and providers if you choose.

Assessment
Testing that ends in a plan.
Standardized assessment is not a verdict. It is a way to get from a vague question to a specific answer you can act on.
- ADHD evaluationFor adults wondering why sustained focus feels so much harder than it should.
- Learning differencesDyslexia, dysgraphia, and processing profiles for accommodations and self-knowledge.
- Diagnostic clarityA structured second look when symptoms have not matched any one label.
- Pre-surgical evaluationsClearance evaluations for bariatric and other procedures, done with care.
The process.
Assessment is predictable on purpose. You always know what is next and how long it takes.
Intake interview
A 90-minute structured conversation about your history and the questions you want answered.
Testing session
A half or full day of standardized measures. Breaks are built in; coffee is provided.
Feedback & report
A session to walk through results, then a written report you can share with providers, schools, or workplaces.
A diagnosis should give you more options, not fewer. That is the test we hold every report to.
From clients.
I came in for an ADHD evaluation after years of 'try harder.' The report explained my brain and gave me a plan I actually used.
Dr. Kessler is the first clinician who asked what I wanted the answer for before testing. That changed the whole process.
Therapy here is practical and kind. Goals are concrete, progress is checked, and nothing feels pathologized.
The office.
On Brattle Street, above the bookstores, near the T.
